Sabcho Gavrailov

This portrait was inspired by a local initiative and the love of the people towards HMQE II.
It was presented and unveiled at a featured exhibition called "Anatomy of a portrait".
This featured exhibition was part of the collective gallery exhibition of the Dacorum Creatives Art Hub and was available to visit throughout the month of June 2022.
Some of the reference images used to create the painting are part of the Primary Collection of portraits in the National Portrait Gallery.
Alongside the main portrait of the Queen, the exhibition featured
• a number of high-resolution images showing various parts of the portrait in detail
• different stages of the painting process
• other portrait studies of Queen Elizabeth II.
The photographs were accompanied by a short piece of information and interesting facts about it.
This included information about the Queen's official attire in this portrait: her dress, tiara, necklace, Royal Orders and sash as well as an explanation of the technique used to paint the artwork.

Platinum Jubilee HMQE II

Portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II created for her Platinum Jubilee in 2022 from a photograph. The painting took 3 months to complete using Oil paint and wet on dry approach over several sessions.

Big Art Fair is one of the main annual events of HVAF held in Hitchin's Town Hall, It is a member's artist-only event and it is an opportunity for members to get their work in front of a wide Hertfordshire (and beyond) audience.
