As an artist, I explore disused lands in the urban environment and the inner spaces of the mind. My mixed media paintings on wood panels focus on calming and hopeful images I have distilled from my exploration of abandoned land, where natural growth overcomes human indifference. A reaction to the intergenerational trauma of the Holocaust, I have always found the vitality of the natural world to be a strong antidote to the fear and grief that overshadowed my family of origin through three generations. The biophilic aspects of the work engage viewers through their innate tendency to seek connections with nature.
