Rory Watson’s paintings attempt to portray the depth and complexities of emotions. They are categorised as figurative, yet flirt with abstraction as haunting forms emerge from textured layers and a playful use of colour, ultimately influenced through the artist’s colourblindness. The viewer is further made aware of the artists presence, as visceral paint is scraped, splattered and brushed onto the canvas in a physical approach to painting. Since achieving his BA Fine Art degree from Central Saint Martins in 2019, Rory has completed residencies with the Muse Gallery and Art Inspirations, and had his first London solo exhibition in May 2022. ...
